Dr Husna Ahmad OBE holds a PhD in Environmental Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies at London University, and is a published author on faith and the environment. As a Board member of Faith Regen Foundation, an adviser to Palmers Green Mosque [the MCEC] and East London Mosque, and, the creator of the Women’s Water Sanitation and Hygiene Networks, Dr Husna is a key speaker at international events and also a board member of Bond.
Prior to joining Global One, Jana worked and volunteered at various non-profits in support of under-represented and vulnerable people around the world. Jana is a fierce defender of human rights, with a passion for equality and women empowerment. In her role as Executive Assistant and Office Manager, Jana uses her resourcefulness and organisational skills to maintain and improve efficiency and productivity at Global One.
Ellie has degrees in Crisis Management and Humanitarian Assistance and work experience in the European Commission, DG for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection. She has conducted field research in Asia on accountability to beneficiaries. She has also worked for local authorities on writing proposals for projects funded by the European Cohesion Fund. During her studies, she was also a part-time researcher in Montesquieu Institute in The Hague where she was coding statements of members of the European Parliament.
Kenya Country Manager
Najat is the Country Manager for Global One Kenya, overseeing achievement of the organisation’s vision and mission in the horn of Africa. She has over 10 years’ experience in development and humanitarian sectors working in Ethiopia and Kenya. Her passion is gender equality. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Planning and Management from St Merry University of Ethiopia and Diploma in Education- from Kagumo Teachers College of Kenya and taught Boys Secondary school for two years before her NGO career.
Kenya Finance Officer
Wahome works at Global One managing Finance and Admin at Kenya Office, He is a Certified Public Accountant and IT expert in Computerised Accounting Systems. He has Eight years experience in Accounting and Finance and has worked as an Auditor, Accountant and Assistant Finance Manager in different organisations.
Nigeria Country Manager
Chioma started out with Global One as an Africa Programmes Intern in 2015. She’s currently working as a consultant for the team, monitoring and implementing development projects such as WASH, Maternal health and Agriculture in Nigeria. She holds a Masters’ degree in International Development from the University of Manchester, with keen interest in Rural Development, as well as a BSc in Economics. She has always been drawn to improving rural life hence her involvement with Enactus during her undergraduate studies, carrying out projects in the scope of rural education and agriculture.
Bangladesh Project Manager
Raihan joined Global One in April 2016 as Country Programme Officer, Bangladesh. He works in coordinating and implementing different development projects in Bangladesh. Raihan holds a joint Masters in Research and Innovation in Higher Education from four finest universities in Austria, Finland, China and Germany as a full scholar of the European Commission. Previously, he completed his BSc (Hons) Management and Business Administration from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
Bangladesh Finance Manager
Masudul started his professional career with as an accountant in 1997 and since then has been working with different national and international organisations in different capacities, managing finance and accounting. He has proven track record in budgeting, financial analysis, budget monitoring, report preparation, compliance and risk management of International donors and UN Organizations including EC/ECHO, USAID, WFP, WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, IDB, UMCOR and World Bank.
Bangladesh Programme Officer
Tanjena Akter started work with Global One team as the Programme Officer in April 2017 and also responsible for coordinating, implementing and quality achievement of the different development project and other works. She has 9 years experience in different humanitarian sectors (Rights, Gender, Human Trafficking, Child protection & development, Livelihood, Women Empowerment, Disability & Inclusive Development). Before joining GLOBAL ONE, Tanjena Akter worked with Association For Rural Development (ARD) & Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) in different positions. She holds M.S.S (Master’s) degree in Economics from Jagannath University, Bangladesh.
