GO-MAD NOV’18, BANGLADESH

Thank you for participating in our Nov’2018 Bangladesh Deployment!

The GO MAD volunteer deployment gave an opportunity for volunteers to gain hands on experience. Thanks to our Bangladesh office, we had a unique access to camps and can provide relief for refugees in vulnerable situations.

The deployment supported displaced Rohingya women and children in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh from 5-9 November 2018. Volunteers had the opportunity to contribute to Global One’s projects in Bangladesh in a number of ways. These included distributing our Box for Life, Dignity kits and trauma counselling. Meanwhile, assisting in our four health posts and leading activities in Child friendly zones.

Our vision statement

Following the success and goals of previous volunteer deployments, the 2018 deployment aimed to improve the well-being of refugees. This included physical, mental and emotional well-being of the persecuted minorities. Global One aims to develop effective and innovative ways to provide support for Rohingya refugees.  More specifically, in relation to childbirth, restoring dignity and empowerment for women and children. With this purpose in mind, we offer volunteers a chance to contribute.

Our mission statement

Global One’s ongoing mission for the Bangladesh deployments is to assist the Global One Bangladesh Office in their local projects. As the demand or necessities differ, so will the work of the volunteers. The mission is predominantly to ensure displaced Rohingya women and children are supported in their most intimate needs. As a result, the main focus of our projects will remain with the distribution of Dignity Kits and Boxes for Life. As well as providing mammography clinics and trauma counselling where we can.
