Give Your Qurbani This Eid-ul Adha

“He is not a believer who fills his stomach while his neighbour goes hungry.”  (Bukhari)

As we approach Eid al-Adha, we remember the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) – a legacy of sacrifice, compassion, and trust in Allah.

Qurbani takes place during the auspicious days of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar, bringing the year to a close with a sacred act of worship and service to the community. It is the sacred tradition of sacrificing an animal, following Eid-ul Adha prayers, and providing this to immediate family and friends, local and international communities who need it most.

During this time, Muslims around the world commemorate an important event in Islamic history, when Prophet Ibrahim (AS) showed utmost devotion and commitment to God’s command. In a dream, Ibrahim (AS) saw that he must sacrifice his son, as a sign of faith and obedience to God’s will. Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail prepared for this sacrifice, when Allah intervened, replacing Ismail with a ram. Today, Muslims honour this memory through sacrificing an animal and contributing meat to the most undeserved and vulnerable within society.

Qurbani is not only an act of worship – it is a powerful expression of solidarity with those facing hardship and hunger.

This Eid, your Qurbani can offer families the gift of food, unburdening them from the shame and pain of inequality. You can help restore dignity, and bring joy to vulnerable communities around the world. For some families, Qurbani may be the only time they can consume meat throughout the year, otherwise accessing only basic food supplies.

Today, the world produces enough food to sustain us all, yet more than 673 million people still go to bed hungry.

Food is not a luxury. It is a basic human right.

While Muslims around the world prepare to enjoy the celebration of Eid, gathering with their families and loved ones to feast, millions of vulnerable families around the world struggle to access even basic meals. They experience the devastating and compounding impacts of rising food insecurity, poverty, displacement and climate change.

Access to nutritious food is made increasingly difficult due to extreme weather events which destroy crops, livelihoods and income sources, pushing communities further into cycles of poverty and insecurity.

Your compassion will reach the hearts of children in Ethiopia, painting a smile on their faces.

Your commitment will restore a playful racing energy in children in Sri Lanka, fuelled by the gift they have received.

Your solidarity will be appreciated by mothers and fathers in Kenya, sharing the joy of Eid across oceans in between.

Your charitable giving will extend beyond the communities in Nigeria we serve – sustaining hope and restoring faith in humanity.

No parent wants their child to wake up on Eid without food to eat.

Together, we can help bring relief, dignity, and happiness to families who need it most.

The Reward of Giving

Reap the rewards of this blessed time in the Islamic calendar.
