Dr Husna Ahmad OBE holds a PhD in Environmental Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies at London University, and is a published author on faith and the environment. As a Board member of Faith Regen Foundation, an adviser to Palmers Green Mosque [the MCEC] and East London Mosque, and, the creator of the Women’s Water Sanitation and Hygiene Networks, Dr Husna is a key speaker at international events.
Head of Strategy
Shanza is currently working to build a portfolio of environmentally conscious and sustainable development programmes promoting community empowerment across Asia. She has an MSc in International Public Policy and a BSc in Biology. Shanza has taken an active involvement in various leadership development and interfaith initiatives in the UK and Europe, previously worked as a Policy and Communications Assistant at the House of Lords, and in other research and public relations roles in the third sector.
Head of Programmes
Jess works at Global One as the Head of Programmes, overseeing and aligning development projects in Kenya, Somalia, Ghana and Nigeria, with GO’s Africa Strategy. She has over 4 years’ experience in the charity sector working across 8 countries in Africa, with a strong interest in WASH. She holds a Masters in Humanitarianism and Conflict Response from the University of Manchester, as well as a BSc in International Relations and Global Development joint with Third World Development from The University of Derby.
Asia Programme Manager
Aleena is currently the Asia Programme Manager at Global One, she is working on a project that focuses on engaging the Pakistani diaspora in polio eradication. She also assists the Asia Programme team with global health and WASH programmes in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia. Aleena has an MSc in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London and a BA in International Studies from the American University of Sharjah. She has worked in project management, research and evaluation roles in the development sector for over 5 years on projects focusing on maternal and child health, persons with disabilities and women survivors of violence in Pakistan.
Research and Development Officer
Faeezah currently works as the Research and Development Officer and supports various projects including the World Muslim Leadership Forum and the WASH Report for Syrian Refugee Women. She contributes a faith-based approach to publications such as the Menstrual Hygiene Management toolkit and Islam and Islam and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Having completed a degree in Law at the SOAS, she worked as a Paralegal in Immigration and Human Rights Law and has an ongoing involvement in promoting social justice, in particular with the BAME community and international human rights. She has previously worked with members of Parliament and in the voluntary sector in youth and community leadership.
Africa Programme Officer
Sukana studied Politics and International Studies at Warwick University before joining the Global One team in 2016.
Kenya Country Manager
Najat is the Country Director for Global One Kenya, overseeing achievement of the organisation’s vision and mission in the horn of Africa. She has over 10 years’ experience in development and humanitarian sectors working in Ethiopia and Kenya. Her passion is gender equality. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Planning and Management from St Merry University of Ethiopia and Diploma in Education- from Kagumo Teachers College of Kenya and taught Boys Secondary school for two years before her NGO career.
Africa Programmes Officer
Sally is Africa Programmes Officer at Global One Kenya where she is responsible for co-coordinating programme implementation across the country. She holds a Master of Science in Agronomy and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Warwick (UK) and Moi University (Kenya) respectively. She has held various research positions at the University of Nairobi, Rothamsted Research Institute and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Her primary interests include health, gender, food security and climate.
Kenya Finance Officer
Wahome works at Global One managing Finance and Admin at Kenya Office, He is a Certified Public Accountant and IT expert in Computerised Accounting Systems. He has Eight years experience in Accounting and Finance and has worked as an Auditor, Accountant and Assistant Finance Manager in different organisations.
Bangladesh Deputy Country Manager
Ershadul is a development professional having 19 years specialised work experience in Nutrition, Livelihood, WASH and Child Protection sector and wide experience of managing large scale health and socio-economic development projects targeting poor, vulnerable and excluded population in geographically and technically challenged contexts both urban and rural areas of Bangladesh. Before joining with Global One Ershadul worked with UNDP, Save the Children International, Save the Children-USA, CARE-Bangladesh, ICCO COOPERATION and BRAC in different senior positions, he completed Master of Social Science (MSS) and Master of Public Health (MPH).
Bangladesh Project Officer
Raihan joined Global One in April 2016 as Country Programme Officer, Bangladesh. He works in coordinating and implementing different development projects in Bangladesh. Raihan holds a joint Masters in Research and Innovation in Higher Education from four finest universities in Austria, Finland, China and Germany as a full scholar of the European Commission. Previously, he completed his BSc (Hons) Management and Business Administration from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
Bangladesh Finance Manager
Masudul started his professional career with as an accountant in 1997 and since then has been working with different national and international organisations in different capacities, managing finance and accounting. He has proven track record in budgeting, financial analysis, budget monitoring, report preparation, compliance and risk management of International donors and UN Organizations including EC/ECHO, USAID, WFP, WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, IDB, UMCOR and World Bank.
Nigeria Project Consultant
Chioma started out with Global One as an Africa Programmes Intern in 2015. She’s currently working as a consultant for the team, monitoring and implementing development projects such as WASH, Maternal health and Agriculture in Nigeria. She holds a Masters’ degree in International Development from the University of Manchester, with keen interest in Rural Development, as well as a BSc in Economics. She has always been drawn to improving rural life hence her involvement with Enactus during her undergraduate studies, carrying out projects in the scope of rural education and agriculture.
