Zakat ul Fitr, also known as Fitrana, is a compulsory act of charity that Muslims must pay at the end of Ramadan.

Paying Zakat ul Fitr completes your worship for Ramadan and acts as a means of purification for your fasts. When you give Zakat ul Fitr, your fasting is increased in reward and also allows those in poverty to take part in Eid ul Fitr celebrations.

At a rate of £5 per person, every Muslim must pay Zakat ul Fitr, regardless of age. You can make the family’s payment on their behalf, but a contribution must be made by or for each member of the household.

With Global One, your donation of the equivalent of one saa’ or scooped handful of staple food will provide a nutritious meal for women, girls and vulnerable communities living in poverty.

Zakat ul Fitr must be paid before Eid prayers commence to allow your donation to reach those who need it in time. Your generosity will enable someone who is hungry to eat a meal and satisfy their hunger.

Pay your Zakat ul Fitr today.

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) ordained Zakat ul Fitr to purify the fasting person from indecent words or actions, and to provide food for the needy. It is accepted as Zakah for the person who gives it before the Eid prayer; but it is a sadaqah for the one who gives it after the prayer.”
