    Towards repairing a home

A massive deadly fire has swept through a Rohingya refugee camp in southern Bangladesh, 8 refugees died as the fire destroyed 10,000 shelters. The fire burned for over four hours before help could reach the hilly terrain, hundreds watched their homes, mosque and their MSF hospital burn to the ground. The fire service personnel battled the flames for 8 hours. Many left with severe burns were unable to get medical aid or support.

Global one are on the ground working in the camps to ensure your donations reach injured and displaced refugees, so they can get the help they desperately need. Your donations will go towards, hygiene Kits, clothing, medical aid, tents and support the rebuilding of shelters.

Thousands of Rohingya have run away from the camps to save their life causing a stampede that resulted in 319 missing refugees and 314 injured. By evening, the whole camp was covered black, they desperately need your donations.

In an already overpopulated area, over a million people have been reported to reside in the camps in southern Bangladesh, the vast majority having fled Myanmar in 2017 from a military-led crackdown. Now they face another tragedy, their homes once again destroyed. Many left with severe burns and injuries need medical support and shelter more than ever.

This isn’t an isolated incident as, In January, another fire destroyed a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar that left thousands without shelter. Global One reached 118 households with emergency family clothing package during this crisis.

According to the UNHCR, more than 550 shelters – home to at least 3,500 people – were either totally or partially destroyed in the blaze at Nayapara camp, as well as 150 shops and a facility belonging to a non-profit organisation.

Global One’s projects in Rohingya has directly benefited 10,000 refugees in camp 8E and continues to work on the ground to make help the refugees who’ve suffered at the hands of this fire.

By donating today, you will be providing critical support and easing the already displaced life of Rohingya children and families.
